2020 will be here faster than 1, 2, 3…or rather, 3,2,1. If you haven’t set your New Year’s Eve plans yet, we’ve rounded up some great Northwest Florida events, fit for kids and adults.
‘Cause baby you’re a firework
You can’t do New Year’s Eve without a fireworks show. And for the best show in South Walton, we recommend the Baytowne Countdown at Baytowne Wharf inside the Sandestin Resort. Enjoy beautiful holiday décor and lights as you stroll through the Village. Live music at Events Plaza begins at 6 PM and, if you’re an early bird, catch the first fireworks display at 8 PM. Stay until midnight for the anticipated countdown and the second spectacular fireworks show. Afterward, hangout for more live music and drop into the bars, for which are sure to be lively. Baytowne Countdown is free to the public; click here for more information.
Tonight, we are young
Before you tuck the kids in New Year’s Eve night, take them to their own hopping Noon Year’s Eve party at Lulu’s Destin! From 10 AM – 2 PM, Lulu’s Destin is hosting a fun-filled day of activities for the whole family. Enjoy crafts, face painting, balloon animals, an inflatable slide, and a kid’s magic show. When the clock strikes noon, hundreds of colorful beachballs will flood Lulu’s Beach and help bring in your New Year’s Eve day right. Noon Year’s Eve is free; click here for more information.
Swing from the chandelier
Are you looking for a more VIP party experience for adults? Bring in the New Year with drinks, live band and DJ, dancing, and more at Emerald Grande at Harborwalk Village. This Grande event is priced at $125 per person and includes a cocktail hour, two fireworks shows, and a 4-course dinner. Dress in your fanciest suit or swankiest dress and grab your date for this rocking New Year’s Eve party. To purchase tickets, click here.
Raise your glass
If dancing and crowds aren’t your jam, spend a casual evening dining at Café Thirty-A. Savor a contemporary eclectic, three-course prix fixe menu with a glass of champagne for just $135 per person. Choose from creamy lobster bisque with caviar and roasted duck with sweet potato puree or Dungeness crab salad with mustard greens and prime lamb rack with glazed rainbow carrots. Reservations start at 6 PM; click here for more information.
Author, Vern McLellan said: “What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.” So, whether you spend New Year’s Eve at a festive night club or a quiet evening at home, we hope you go into 2020 with a passion and purpose. And in turn, may the New Year bring you happiness and continued success.
